Refined Sake Kai no Kaiun

Main content starts here.

Kai-no-Kaiun is known as the sake which is prepared with the water of Mt.Fuji for the brewing process. It has been being drunk by the people at the foot of Mt.Fuji. Ide sake brewery founded in Mid-Edo period produces the sake. The recommended Sake are not only Kai-no-kaiun, but also Shiboritate shipped in the same day as the Sake is bottled, Umeshu of the Sake with a Japanese apricot inside, and Yukidoke brewed from Sake rice grown in Fujiysohida city adjoining Kawaguchiko town are recommended. The exceptional commodity is the sake lees sweets ‘Kuramoto-kanmi (white pudding)’. It has the sticky texture, creamy sweetness, and aroma of sake lees. Try it once. A brewer is from this Fuji Five Lakes area, and he wishes if he could produce Sake which makes neighbors happy. In 2010, the brewery started the tour of the sake cellar. Before that, the brewery never opened the cellar to public to keep the specific environment for making sake, however, they changed the policy to tell the aroma and sounds which are produced on the process of making sake. This is the very precious chance. You can make a reservation on the web.
In the cellar, the shop ‘Sakaboushi’ opened. You can taste sake to test the quality. You can walk to this brewery from the lakeside of Kawaguchiko. If you are interested in it, you can observe the garden and tatami mat rooms which are located at the back of the sale cellar.
