Kentokusan Erin-ji Temple

The family temple of Takeda Shingen.
A memorial service for Shingen is held on April 12.
The temple has a garden designed by the monk Muso Kokushi which is a nationally designated Place of Scenic Beauty, a wooden sitting statue of Muso Kokushi which is a cultural property designated by the prefecture, a sitting statue of Takeda Fudoson and the graves of Takeda Shingen and Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu.
The treasure house contains many cultural properties related to Takeda Shingen including his helmet, war fan and flag containing his battle standard Furinkazan (wind, forest, fire, mountain) which is a quote by the famous commander Sun Tzu.
You can enjoy Matcha (green powdered tea) in this garden, a masterpiece of Muso Kokushi.
