Mt. Minobu

Main content starts here.

Area:Fuji River Basin/The Southern Alps

At the summit of one of Yamanashi's 100 best mountains in the Minami Alps there is the hall Shishinkaku and old cedar trees which are said to have been planted by the monk Nichiren Shonin. The views are stunning, and you can see the Yatsugatake mountains beyond the Southern Alps, and to the south-east Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay. The old temple approach is now a hiking course for beginners. Contact: Minobu Town Office 0556-62-1116
