Main content starts here.

Area:Fuji River Basin/The Southern Alps

The area around Mt. Minobu Kuon-ji Temple was one of the greatest cherry blossom-viewing spots, selected as one of the 100 best cherry blossom-viewing spots in Japan. Especially the weeping cherry blossom tree of Mt. Minobu Kuon-ji Temple, which is over 400 years old, and one of the 10 best weeping cherry blossom trees in Japan. Its weeping branches with blossoms are truly worth seeing. At the time of full bloom, the shrine is thronged with a great many visitors, and there are many people and photography enthusiasts who get pictures with the weeping cherry blossom tree in the background. Please note that during the high season, as a part of traffic control, traffic on the street to the Kuon-ji Temple is regulated by changing the street into a one-way street. Please see “Minobu Tourist Association website”.
The best time to see the cherry blossoms is late March to early April.
