Kanazakura-jinja Shrine, a shrine worthiping Mt. Kinpu, is located at the top of Shosenkyo Gorge. The sacred tree of the shrine, called “ukon-zakura” has been worshiped as “Kaneno narukino Kanazakura (golden cherry blossoms producing money)” in the old folk song dedicated to the tree. Its gold colored blossoms are in full bloom from late April to early May.
