Keitokuin Temple

Area:Isawa/Katsunuma/Nishizawa Gorge

The temple was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu and is the family temple of Takeda Katsuyori.
The Takeda clan died here after a battle with the armies of Oda and Tokugawa in the Tano area on March 11th 1582.
There are stones in the grounds of the temple which show where Katsuyori, his wife and son Nobukatsu committed suicide and there are also the graves of 50 officers, soldiers and maids.
