This museum contains the works of the textile artist Itchiku Kubota who revived the traditional fabric dyeing technique of Tsujigahana. Tsujigahana flourished in Muromachi period and then disappeared just as suddenly.
When Itchiku Kubota was 20 years-old, he was absolutely-fascinated with the beauty of the fabric dyeing and created his own contemporary style called Itchiku Tsujigahana.
His works is highly-praised not only in Japan but also in foreign countries through exhibitions.

Every Wednesdays December through March(Open on Wednesday of Holiday, and the first Wednesday in January)/ December 26-28/ the date designated as closing day

/College students and High school students: 900yen
/Elementary students and Junior high school students:400yen
(Group discount for a group over 15 people--200yen off for each.)

Other information

Every early November(the second Thursday and Friday),the event 'Maimu'is performed. It is free admission and you will enjoy the wonderful art performance. Check the website for the detail.
