Warning!

Climbing Mt.Fuji is very popular and it can be quite dangerous.

Many people climb Mt.Fuji without considering how hard it is.

As a result, some people get sick, get lost, get injured, or even die.

Keep in mind ! Mt.Fuji is the tallest mountain in Japan. Please remember that it's always a much harder climb than you originally think it would be.

Rule

Please bring your trash back to protect the natural environment!

Climb slowly and take a lot of short rests.

When you feel sick, you should take a long rest at a Mountain Hut.

If you feel very sick, you should abort the climb and go back down.

Climbing season is from 7/1 to 8/26.

Clothing & Equipment

The temperature differs by about 20C(68F) between the top and the base and because of it, the temperature will be cooler due to the strong wind.

At dawn, it will be cold like a mid-winter morning (0C and under at times).

Long sleeved shirts and long pants are recommended.

As you climb higher, the temperature will eventually decrease so it would be advisable to bring a sweater, thick socks, and gloves.

Rain gear is also necessary just in case of strong wind and / or rain. (Umbrella would not be much help beacuse it would be a hassle to carry and it would obstruct other climbers.)

Wear comfortable shoes or Mountaineering Boots to protect your ankle.

Sunlight on the mountain is pretty strong, so you should bring sunglasses.

Please carry a flashlight for hiking at night.
