Lake Yamanakako Hana no Miyako Park

Main content starts here.

Located at the base of Mount Fuji near Lake Yamanakako, this sprawling 300,000-square-meter flower field transforms into a veritable sea of color between spring and autumn, backgrounded by Fuji in the distance. Depending on the month and season, visitors can enjoy an astonishing variety of flowers.

One of the most popular events in spring is the tulip festival, where approximately 150,000 tulips bloom in rotation across the field. In general, late April to mid-May is the best time to visit. Mid-August sees vivid yellow sunflowers for the summer, while autumn brings out cosmos flowers and warm, vibrant zinnias.

Many of the park’s paths are designed to be wheelchair-accessible and family-friendly. Wheelchairs rentals are also available. Admission to the flower field is free, but a small fee is required to enter areas like Seiryu no Sato, home to the Myojin Waterfall, a water park, and a well-curated greenhouse.
