Goddess of the Forest, Soujyu: Hokuto City (Vegan)

Located in Hokuto City, “Goddess of the Forest, Soujyu” is a vegan restaurant that started from the cosmetics company “Arsoa.” They chose Yamanashi to really immerse themselves in the clean and beautiful nature of the area, which is a big part of their company philosophy, and “beauty from the inside out” is their slogan.

The restaurant started out as a company cafeteria, where Arsoa incorporated a macrobiotic menu using fresh, local products. Their healthy meals got so popular that those who didn’t even work there started putting in reservations. And so, they officially launched their restaurant, Goddess of the Forest, Soujyu. The price range is a bit on the higher end, but every meal on the menu is certainly worth the price.

Most items at Soujyu do not contain alcohol, and they are open to accommodating dietary restrictions if you call in advance.

There is even a shop inside of the restaurant where you can find a variety of vegan/vegetarian ingredients and snacks to take home.
