Yamanashi Prefecture Guide Interpreters Training Course

Be a Yamanashi Regional Licensed Guide Interpreter

To promote inbound tourism, Yamanashi Prefecture is carrying out a training course to form regional licensed guide interpreters (地域通訳案内士).
Upon finishing the training, participants will be able to work as guide interpreters in Yamanashi, introducing Yamanashi’s natural resources, culture and traditional foods, and, of course, the world heritage site Mt. Fuji, to foreign visitors.

We are looking for people who can speak French, Chinese, Korean, Indonesian and Vietnamese!
Use your language skills and become a licensed guide interpreter in the Home of Mt. Fuji.

How to become a Regional Licensed Guide Interpreter?

For becoming a Regional Licensed Guide Interpreter in Yamanashi it is necessary to join the training course (total of 52 hours), and pass the oral test that will be held on September 15th.
Classes will take place on Saturdays and Sundays, from July to September.

Who can apply:

Anyone, regardless gender or age, resident in Yamanashi or not, from any nationality can join the Training Course.
Check the proficiency level required for each language here:
For applicants that are not Japanese native speakers it is required Japanese level equivalent to JLPT N2.

Applications will be accepted until 5 pm on July 1st, and the fee is 10000 yen (material included).

Please notice that Regional Licensed Guide Interpreter is different than National Licensed Guide Interpreter (全国通訳案内士)
