Horai-Kan (Mountain Lodge)

Main content starts here.

Horai-Kan (Mountain Lodge) has a deep relationship with the Kame-iwa rock which enshrines Hachidai Ryuo (One of the Buddhism gods). Kameiwa is a large rock which looks like a turtle crawling on the ground, which is situated on the left side of the way to the summit from the lodge. Hachidai Rryuo is a god of water. As a holy place, Kameiwa rock had been being taken care of by the people who have the Mt.Fuji faith Fujiko. Now, the god is worshiped at the large household-altar of Horai-Kan. Horai-Kan is situated at the 8th station of Mt.Fuji, 3,150m above sea level. You will see the lodge after you finished climbing a rocky stretch starting from the 7th station. It is the second mountain lodge that you start counting from the first-aid station at the 8th station. It takes approximately 3 hours from the 5th station to the lodge. It takes 2-3 hours from the lodge to the peak. The service: lodging (reservation by phone call only) and selling commodities. No service of light meals and rest-station room. Branding for a pilgrim’s staff is available all the time.
