Fujiyoshida Fire Festival Road Race

The Fujiyoshida Fire Festival Road Race is a half marathon course that runs on part of the Mt. Fuji Yoshidaguchi Climbing Trail, where there are heritage assets of World Heritage site Mt. Fuji. Its highest point is Mt. Fuji 1st Station, which has an elevation of 1,300 m. On the way up the slope, an impressive full portrait of dynamic Mt. Fuji comes into view. At the 33rd race in August 2013, there were about 6,000 participants.

Key point

In the spring, it is possible to see Fujizakura cherry blossoms from Nakano-chaya Teahouse to Oishi-chaya Teahouse on the Mt. Fuji Yoshidaguchi Climbing Trail. There are 20,000 cherry trees planted here, making this the largest group in the prefecture. The area has been designated a natural monument of Japan.
