Fujizakura Country Club

This is a highly strategic resort-style course that was opened in October 1975, located on the northern foot of Mt. Fuji at an elevation of 1,000 m. At this majestic location with views of Mt. Fuji, each of the holes has separations consisting of Japanese red pine and Japanese larch trees, and golf can be played while enjoying the seasons here: pretty fujizakura cherry blossoms in the spring, refreshing breezes in the summer, and gold-colored autumn leaves in the fall. This is a tournament course where the well-known Fujisankei Classic is held.

Aiming to meet “global specifications,” the new bentgrass Penn-A2 is used. This is the longest par 71 course in Japan, and it is where the “Fujisankei Classic,” the most prominent men’s golf tournament, is held.

This is a strategic course with tournament specifications, and the most important point here is the difficulty of the greens and the areas surrounding the greens. It is key to have strategies for two things: the areas around the greens with shortly cut grass tilting toward hazards, and the undulations of the greens, which all golfers here say are like “optical illusions.”

Transportation details	Visiting by car From Chuo Expressway Kawaguchiko Interchange, go about 10 minutes toward Fuji Subaru Line. From Higashifuji-goko Road Fujiyoshida Interchange, go about 10 minutes toward Fuji Subaru Line. Or, take National Route 139 to Odachi-Minami Intersection and turn left. About 10 minutes from here.
