Fujisan (Mt. Fuji) and Fujigoko (Fuji Five Lakes) Area

FUJI CLASSIC

This is a links-style course located at 1,200 m on the foot of Mt. Fuji. International designer Desmond Muirhead was involved in its design. It has a beautiful and unique course layout themed on the “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” by woodblock print artist Katsushika Hokusai and elements of Hokusai’s life, and it also features scenic views. Visitors can enjoy a day of golf here together with expansive panoramic views and a beautiful natural setting.

Key point

This is the closest golf course to Mt. Fuji, and majestic Mt. Fuji is in view at all 18 holes. This is a golf course in the sky, where it is possible to look out at Lake Motosuko and the Minami Alps, and at the Yatsugatake Mountains in the distance.

Strategy

This course is located on a plateau at an elevation of 1,200 m, so the key to getting a good score is reading the unique winds of this highland. Also, on the high-speed, strong grass-grain greens starting from Mt. Fuji, line reading is a major deciding factor. It is necessary to be careful of the many danger areas?ponds, bunkers, and undulations?distributed throughout the course.
